Soha Ali Khan On Breastfeeding Inaaya: "It Was Very Demanding, Tiring At Times, I Have Pumped In An Airplane Bathroom"
During the International Breastfeeding Week 2019, Neha Dhupia started #FreedomeToFeed initiative to make all the women out there aware of the importance of breastfeeding. For the same, the actress has been actively sharing her inputs on her experiences on exclusively breastfeeding her daughter, Mehr by posting a thought-provoking video about embracing motherhood and the importance of breastfeeding. And now supporting that initiative, Soha Ali Khan, who mothers little Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, just came out in support of Neha's #FreedomToFeed initiative and shared her breastfeeding story.

With the onset of World Breastfeeding Week that is celebrated from August 1-7, Soha shared a video on her Instagram feed where she talked about it was very tiring and very frustrating at times to feed a hungry baby. She also talked about how she had to breastfeed Inaaya in the oddest place. Watch her detailed experience in her IGTV video below:

In the video, "It was definitely one of the most difficult aspects of being a new parent for me. As it is, I am so competitive by nature. I wanted to be the exclusive provider of nutrition and I was quite kicked by this wonderful, very humbling process that was happening to me. But it was also very demanding, very tiring and very frustrating, at times, to meet the rapidly increasing demands of a hungry baby."

Further, she talked about how she had to breastfeed her baby in the bathroom of an airplane. "As a working parent, I found myself having to pump in the oddest of places. I have pumped in an airplane bathroom. When the seatbelt signs came on, I had to hurriedly dismantle everything, spilling lots of very precious breast milk along the way. When I came out and made it back to my seat, the air hostess asked me if I was doing my make-up inside. I was like, 'Uh...no,'" she said in the video.

She also quipped about how women are frowned up while breastfeeding in public. "It is difficult as there are a few facilities that enable us to do this and it sort of a taboo subject and you frowned upon women who are breastfeeding in public. I think that they are doing something that is incredibly valuable, scientific and incredible. It really needs to be supported, as opposed to being shunned," she said.

Many celebs, including Mira Rajput, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Lisa Haydon, Sonali Bendre and others have also shared their views on breastfeeding in the past.
